This complete kit allows students to explore the wave nature of sound through investigations of reflection, interference, and diffraction. The ultrasonic transmitter produces a 40 kHz signal which produces a wavelength of 8.3 mm when operating at room temperature.
Kit includes ultrasonic transmitter, slave transducer, ultrasonic detector, two reflective plates, perforated plate, four stand blocks and three exponential horns. Useful for single and double sound source demonstrations and activities. Exponential horns attach to either the detector or transmitter to amplify wave output. Reflective plates sit on wooden stand blocks and provide a smooth surface for examining wave reflection. The self standing perforated plate allows for demonstrations in diffraction.
The transmitter, transducer and detector each measure 5.5" wide, 5" long and 3.25" tall. The silver and perforated panels measures approximately 8" long by 8" wide. Exponential horns measure 4" long and 2.75" in diameter at the wider end.
Instructional guide with sample experiments and activities included.
