Hollow Cylinder - Electrostatics Demonstration Apparatus
- Simple but elegant apparatus for demonstrating how an electrostatic charge resides only on the outer surface of a conductor
- Provides a hands-on approach to learning, allowing students to physically experiment with electrostatic charge. This type of active learning can be more engaging and memorable than simply reading about electrostatics in a textbook
- All components are pre-assembled and bench tested to provide the best possible results for students
- Includes hollow metal cylinder measuring 2" in diameter and 4" long mounted onto an insulating rod with base measuring 11.75" tall and 4" in diameter, and 4 attached pithballs
- Eisco Labs proudly manufactures its own products using state-of-the-art equipment, and following the highest standards of quality control. Each product is carefully designed by a team of laboratory professionals and experienced engineers with quality and durability in mind
The Hollow Cylinder Apparatus demonstrates how an electrostatic charge resides only on the outer surface of a conductor. Two pith balls are suspended inside the cylinder and another pair on top. When the cylinder is charged, the outer balls with diverge but the inner ones will be unaffected. The metal cylinder measures 2 diameter x 4" long and is mounted on an insulating rod attached to a base which measures 11.75" tall.
